MEDITATION

There are 4 types of meditation. Lets see one by one. The first one is relaxation meditation.

Many people want to attain mind calmness immediately. In Pathanjali yoga ,meditation comes after 6 steps. But we expect it at once. It is wrong.

First our body should come to calmness. At a particular place, at a particular time we sit and do meditation. Even then our body and mind will be in some other thoughts and action. So we have to practice  to sit in a place quietly. Our pranas should be equalized and calmed down.

Mind may think a lot. Let it be. This is our first stage. Here we have to give necessary energy to the body  for sitting. This way to be followed for 3 months.

Mind may take 2 leads to act.

  1. It may be doer.
  2.  It may be instrumental in action.

Always it will be doer stating that I m only doing everything. In meditation, we convert our mind from doer form to instrumental form.

When we see our mind we notice so many thoughts are running like a river. We observe all thoughts, whether good or bad.

So in meditation, we do 2 things, we separate ourselves from our mind, then we observe it as an instrument.

When we begin  to see our mind ,it will calm down immediately.

So in relaxation meditation , we are preparing our body and mind for next type of meditation.
